Hello! I'm really curious and needing a bit of help but can you give any tips making a webcomic? like best resolution, stuff like that. it'd be a big help! c:
HI!! I’m not sure if i’m the best person to ask but I will tell you what I have done in my experience..
I draw witchy at 300 dpi in A4 dimensions (2480 x 3508px), but that’s only because i know there’s a chance i’ll want to print it in the future. I’m not sure if comics are often actually printed in A4 but i chose it because it has a versatile and commonly used ratio.
ka-blam.com has a lot of info about the standard sizes of comics ie; https://ka-blam.com/printing/front/?p=38 but it definitely depends where you live. If you never plan on printing your comic then the world is your oyster! you can work in whatever dimensions you want but i do recommend doing it fairly large and 300dpi. Even if you do want to print it eventually there are still options for books with unusual dimensions, they’re usually just a bit more costly or harder to access.
As for setting up a website (which i am honestly a bit clueless about but I will try to explain it anyway):
If you are a beginner, it might be easiest to use a comic hosting website such as smackjeeves. there are layouts to choose from and it’s simpler (and more free) than buying a domain name and buying/finding your own hosting. If you do get your own hosting, however, there are a lot more options wrt plugins, ads, etc.
If you want to do the whole shebang yourself, I recommend installing wordpress with the comic easel plugin (previously called comicpress) as it gives you an easy interface to upload your comic, add pages, etc. If you don’t know any html or css, learn it! or find someone you know that you can pay or who is kind enough to code your website for free. (which is my case)
when registering a domain name (url) choose something that’s short and simple. If you already have your own portfolio/personal website you can make your comic an offshoot of that with a url like witchy.arielries.com. but if you can, it’s not much more expensive to buy a new domain name, eg witchycomic.com, that people might be more likely to remember.
Anyway, i hope that’s what you actually wanted to know and not completely in the wrong direction ha ha… If you have any more questions feel free to ask!! also if anyone reading thinks my answers are wrong please tell me I am only a beginner myself…
wait i forgot to mention that you can totally host your comics on tumblr if that’s easier for you! i use the simple webcomic theme http://www.tumblr.com/theme/37061 for the witchy tumblr and it’s highly customisable and all around handy. I personally prefer having a separate site but there are a lot of advantages to using tumblr.

Hey guys, I’m wondering what
-you’d like to see me focus on in my art
-what you like so far
-what you’d like to see improve
-anything that irks you about my art.
-stuff you want to see me draw.
Feel free to go anon, I won’t be publishing or responding these but I’ll appreciate the input. Thank you!
